We are committed to providing qualified faculty and hire many educators with extensive training and professional experience in their fields. Our instructors are very special to us and we appreciate their teaching expertise. Before an individual becomes a Westwood Online instructor, they must go through a rigorous hiring and training process, allowing us to continue to give our students the level of education you deserve.

THE HIRING PROCESS
The process begins with an individual completing a "Potential Faculty Questionnaire" which is scrutinized based on experience and education level, with only the most qualified applicants moving on to the next step. The applicant's questionnaire is then reviewed by the appropriate Program Director. Those applicants found to have the necessary qualifications are then interviewed by a Program Director or Assistant Program Director.
HIGH STANDARDS OF EMPLOYMENT
Applicants who succeed in the interview process are enrolled in a comprehensive and thorough three-week online training program that teaches them about our policies, systems, and online teaching platform. During this time they also work with our Faculty Services Staff to document their experience. Our instructors are expected to have a minimum of four years or 8000 hours of experience, which must be documented and verified (although some programs vary from this formula slightly). If an instructor successfully completes all the documentation and their New Instructor Training they are then approved to teach a course in the following term. Each new instructor is mentored and monitored very closely during their first term. Westwood College Online continues its development and ongoing observation of each faculty member to ensure sustained excellence in the classroom.
